Job SummaryThe School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi seeks applications for a Visiting Instructor in Information Technology. This temporary position will be based at the University's main campus in Hattiesburg.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Teaches twelve hours of undergraduate courses in the information technology discipline each regular semester.
- Engages in service to the School of Computing Sciences & Computer Engineering.
- Follows the policies and procedures of the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences and the University including maintaining office hours and being responsive to student communications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a closely related discipline.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to teach a broad range of core courses within the Information Technology curriculum, including, but not limited to, computer programming, systems architecture, server administration, network administration, and IT project management.
PhD in information technology, computer science, or cybersecurity preferred. Experience teaching at the college level.
