Job Summary: Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of simulation, instructional technology, and audiovisual systems across the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP). This position ensures the efficient use and continuous advancement of educational technologies, simulation resources, and instructional AV support to align with accreditation standards and academic program needs. Collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and external vendors to ensure high‑quality, forward‑thinking simulation and technology services.
Supervises technical support personnel and contributes to strategic planning for technology‑related initiatives. The individual in this position is expected to be present and available throughout the year during the normal business hours of the CNHP and will have arranged work obligations outside of the CNHP’s normal business hours. This position collaborates with the Director of Simulation Centers.
- Develop and implement technology strategies for instructional delivery and simulation‑based learning across the College of Nursing and Health Professions, including integration into classrooms, labs, and simulation environments.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Clinical Simulation Center in coordination with the Director of Simulation Centers, ensuring compliance with academic and safety standards. Manage AV systems, simulation technologies, and scheduling with academic programs.
- Coordinate planning, purchasing, deployment, and maintenance of instructional and simulation technologies. Lead classroom upgrades, infrastructure planning, and vendor partnerships, ensuring alignment with institutional IT standards.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators to assess technology needs, provide consultation and training on instructional tools and simulation platforms, and ensure effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.
- Supervise the Records and Technology Assistant, delegating tasks, supporting professional development, and aligning team activities with college goals. Maintain expertise in simulation and AV technologies to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to strategic planning, accreditation efforts, and grant proposals by advising on instructional technology. Manage college web content in coordination with academic units, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and brand alignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the college’s mission and technical operations.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in a technology‑related field from an accredited college or university and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in simulation, instructional technology, or audiovisual systems management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)- Advanced knowledge of instructional, simulation, and AV technologies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Skill in troubleshooting complex hardware/software issues.
- Ability to supervise and lead technical staff.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty and administrative stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Familiarity with healthcare simulation platforms (e.g., Laerdal, Gaumard).
- Ability to assess and implement emerging technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology, education, or healthcare‑related field.
- Simulation‑related certification (e.g., CHSE) or advanced training in instructional technology.
- Experience managing educational technology or simulation systems in a higher‑education or healthcare environment.
