Travel Adult Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Registered Nurse performs under direct supervision of Patient Care Coordinator to achieve quality patient care.
• Implements nursing process including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with Patient Care Coordinator, Physicians, and ancillary staff.
• Responsible to Patient Care Coordinator for patient care and accountable to Nurse Manager.
• Performs technical skills including medication administration, IV access, Foley catheter maintenance, venipuncture, blood product administration, restraint application and monitoring, sterile dressing, and treatments as ordered by physician.
• Technical aptitude for working and troubleshooting equipment such as traction, wound vacuum systems, sequential compression devices, continuous passive motion machines, telemetry monitoring devices, blood glucose monitoring devices, and specialty beds.
• Ability to safely position and assist patients using devices like abduction pillows, splints, slings, braces, neck collars, walkers, crutches, and immobilizers.
• Maintains thorough, concise, and timely documentation, bedside shift reports, and verbal communication.
• Maintains current clinical skills, ongoing competencies, equipment, and certifications required in nursing area.
• Implements systematic and comprehensive plan of care for patients needing cardiac monitoring, stroke care, and medical-surgical care.
• Communicates effectively and promotes organizational values including customer service, safety, and compliance standards.
• Promotes culture of caring through compassionate care, teamwork, and courtesy.
• Demonstrates financial responsibility by efficient use of supplies, timely patient discharge, and minimizing overtime.

• Two years experience required.
• Med Surg Tele RN or Psych RN experience required.
• Graduate of recognized and accredited Registered Nurse program required.
• Licensed RN able to practice in the State of Mississippi required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
