Certification Details
- Registered Nurse performs under direct supervision of Patient Care Coordinator.
- Implements nursing process including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Collaborates with Patient Care Coordinator, Physicians, and ancillary staff.
- Responsible for patient care and accountable to Nurse Manager.
- Performs technical skills including medication administration, IV access, blood product administration, restraint application, sterile dressing, and complex treatments.
- Works with equipment such as traction, wound vacuum systems, sequential compression devices, telemetry monitoring devices, blood glucose monitors, and specialty beds.
- Positions and assists patients using devices like abduction pillows, splints, slings, braces, neck collars, walkers, crutches, and immobilizers.
- Documents care thoroughly and communicates effectively with healthcare team.
- Maintains clinical skills and certifications required in nursing area.
- Provides individualized care, prompt intervention for clinical changes, and prevention of complications in cardiac monitoring, stroke care, and medical-surgical care.
- Promotes culture of caring, teamwork, and courtesy.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility in supply use and patient discharge.
Job Details
- Two years experience as Med Surg Tele RN required.
- Graduate of recognized and accredited Registered Nurse program required.
- Licensed RN able to practice in the State of Mississippi required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
Job Requirements
- Shift: Day
- Hours per day: 12
- Hours per week: 42
- Orientation on Tuesdays
- No PTO; must work 36 hours/48 hour schedule or all 48 hour work weeks.
- Every other weekend required.
- Short term assignments with ASAP start date.
- Needs are 8 weeks but facility may only need 6 weeks.
- OT modifier of 1.2x applies to these roles only.
Schedule Information
- Med Surg/Telemetry unit
- Supports Emergency Department with patient holding
- Floating to Med Surg/Tele units as needed
Unit Specific Information
- Nurses will assist Emergency Department with holding patients but will not be assigned ER patients.
- Nurses will float to any Med Surg/Tele unit as needed to maintain coverage and prevent bed closures.
- Ratios will mirror current staff.
- EMR:
Epic experience required. - Time Keeping:
Kronos. - Scrubs:
Galaxy Blue. - No scheduling restrictions.
- Professional appearance required including natural or neutral hair colors.
