Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse
The Peritoneal Dialysis RN, under the established PD training curriculum, will train the PD patient and will participate in the general operation of the PD program.
Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing (RN); currently registered with the Mississippi Board of Nursing; specialized on-the-job training; ability to use a variety of physical motions in day-to-day activity including standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing; ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without experiencing fatigue; demonstrated ability to accept responsibility; ability to work under pressure and accept constructive criticism and guidance;
ability to evaluate patient performance of procedures; proficient in practical aspects of specialty and familiar with teaching methods; basic knowledge of peritoneal dialysis; tact and judgement in dealing with family members and patients, other departments and medical staff; willingness to make home visits after training or as indicated by patient needs.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
