About the PositionThe Support Care Professional Supervisor is a managerial-level position responsible for the administrative oversight and daily operations of assigned Community Living Services programs in Newton. This position directly supervises Support Care Professional staff, coordinates schedules and work assignments, monitors employee performance, and ensures services are delivered in accordance with EMSH policies, DMH standards, MSPB requirements, and applicable residential program guidelines. The Supervisor promotes a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment while supporting individuals in developing the skills needed for increased independence and successful community living.
What you'll need to be SuccessfulSuccess in this role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage staff effectively in a high-acuity psychiatric setting. The Supervisor must demonstrate organizational skills, clear communication, and consistent enforcement of policies and procedures. The ability to prioritize tasks, remain composed during crises, and maintain regulatory compliance while supporting staff development is essential. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety, accountability, and quality of patient care are critical to effective performance.
Preferred QualificationsTypically requires 5+ years of related experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience. May require some college credit by hiring agency and/or a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) designation. Hiring agency preferred qualifications:
Requires five (5) or more years of related experience in a healthcare or institutional setting, including one (1) to two (2) years of supervisory experience. Some college coursework and/or CNA certification may be required based on unit needs.
