About the Role:As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee daily accounting operations, including supervision and development of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff. You’ll ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, manage month- and year-end close processes, and support the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports. This role is a critical link between transactional accounting functions and organizational leadership, maintaining GAAP compliance, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day accounting activities (AP, AR, General Ledger)
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Manage the month- and year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and support informed decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
- Support external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Partner with cross-functional teams and lead key projects (including AP automation)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
