* Job Description:

** Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Validation Engineer.  A candidate placed in this position will be a contributor in the USB and Networking Validation Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches and PHY’s, USB 3.2 hubs, PCI-Express, and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25

Gbps.

* Responsibilities include:

*** Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find elusive bugs and ensure sufficient test coverage to reach a production worthy device.
* Specify and design test environments including  + Software requirements  + Lab Equipment requirements  + Test board designs
* Perform lab-based post-silicon validation data collection and document results.
* Work with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Applications Engineering to validate new silicon products.
* Work in the lab to replicate customer issues and, when necessary, interface directly with field engineers to root cause a customer problem.
** Requirements/

Qualifications:

*** Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
* Strong knowledge of Basic Electronics includes Power, Digital and Analog design fundamentals.
* Knowledge of low-speed Peripheral interfaces like SPI, UART, I2C etc.
* Familiarity with Ethernet (Wired) & PCIe products, Interfaces and standards
* Good knowledge on Micro Processor/Controller family.
* Working knowledge of Embedded C, Linux, Python/TCL (tool command languages), any other programming languages etc.
* Flexibility to adapt to Hardware & Software.
* Familiarity with HDL’s - Verilog/VHDL and FPFGA/ASIC design flow is added advantage.
* Must possess excellent interpersonal, analytical and communications skills
* Should be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability and professional development
* Exposure to working in Lab environment and should be Familiar with lab equipment like Oscilloscope, logic analyzer etc.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $66,650 to $143,000.  Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
