Turbo Pump Engineer
iRocket is pushing the frontier of reusable rocket propulsion. We're looking for a Turbo Pump Engineer to design, analyze, and test turbo machinery for our reusable engines.
The Role
- Design, model, build, and test high-performance turbopumps (inducers/impellers/diffusers) for cryogenic rocket engines.
- Perform hydrodynamic, aerodynamic, bearing, and rotor-dynamics analysis for rotating assemblies.
- Develop manufacturing plans and build books, manage tolerance stack-ups, and ensure as-built compliance.
- Monitor performance trends, analyze cavitation, vibration, thrust-balance, and clearance growth.
- Execute root-cause investigations, iterate designs to improve cost, lead-time, and reliability.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, test, and propulsion design teams.
