Job Overview
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Vice President of Business Lending to support our client in Hauppauge, NY
. The Vice President of Business Lending will lead commercial lending strategy, manage portfolio performance, and drive business development initiatives while overseeing a high‑performing team supporting CRE and commercial borrowers.
- Establish and manage lending objectives, strategies, and practices to meet financial, growth, and service targets
- Identify new commercial lending opportunities and expand existing business relationships
- Manage and service the existing commercial loan portfolio, ensuring ongoing performance and quality
- Conduct financial analysis of prospective borrowers, including income statements, cash flow, and creditworthiness assessments
- Design customized loan packages aligned with client needs, including structure, pricing, and collateral requirements
- Evaluate loan applications, assess risk, and make informed lending decisions within established credit policies
- Prepare and review loan documentation, coordinating with legal counsel to ensure regulatory compliance during closing
- Build, coach, and develop a high‑performance lending team, including BDO oversight and growth
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Minimum 10 years of lending experience, including 5+ years in management roles
- Experience in CRE‑focused commercial lending within institutions larger than $10B preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations, collections practices, bankruptcy processes, and automated lending systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills with ability to build and rebuild lending programs
- Salary Range: $240,000-$265,000 depending on experience
