Managing Consultant – New England, Network & Security Practice

Presidio is seeking a hands‑on technical leader to fill the role of Managing Consultant for the New England region’s Network and Security practice. The consultant will provide technical oversight for an engineering team throughout service execution, ensure engineers are technically prepared, complete projects successfully and efficiently, and exceed client expectations. The role also serves as a focal point for highly complex implementations, leads design workshops, and supports pre‑sales activity for professional services engagements.

Average travel of ~25% within the Tri‑State region.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership
    • Oversee execution of network and security projects from design through installation, validation, and troubleshooting.
    • Provide guidance and quality assurance for network designs that align with business objectives, budgets, and operational support capabilities.
    • Support and lead troubleshooting of complex network and security issues, guiding team members during deployments.
  • Client Relationships
    • Serve as a customer‑facing technical leader for all service engagements, including escalations.
  • Business Management
    • Work closely with sales, pre‑sales, project management, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions and achieve project goals.
  • Team Building
    • Foster a culture of growth and development, focusing on technical and professional development.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • 2+ years of team leadership or management of a technical team (or equivalent).
  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience in project implementation, engineering, and design within the networking and security domains.
  • Proven experience with complex multi‑protocol routing and switching, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting with a focus on Cisco best practices.
  • In‑depth knowledge of core routing and switching platforms (e.g., Cisco) and advanced networking concepts such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IP addressing design.
  • Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack, OSI model, and commonly used TCP/UDP ports and services.
  • Expertise in network security, including hardening device access and implementing security protocols.
  • Proficient in deploying and managing security solutions from leading vendors such as Palo Alto Networks (Panorama, Prisma Access, Prisma Cloud) and Cisco (Fire Power/FTD Firewalls, Meraki MX, FMC Management).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking solutions in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as Aviatrix for cloud networking.
  • Experience deploying SD‑WAN solutions such as Cisco Catalyst, HPE Aruba Edge Connect, or Palo Alto Prisma SD‑WAN.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in routing and switching issues, with a proven track record of resolving complex network problems.
  • Additional security expertise (e.g., Fortinet products) a plus.
  • Advanced networking solutions familiarity (e.g., Arista, Aruba) a plus.
  • Knowledge of network automation and scripting tools such as Python, Ansible, EMM, or TCL a plus.
  • Active Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE preferred).
  • Active Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCCSE, PCNSE preferred).
