Specialist, System Administrator

An established organization is seeking a System Administrator Specialist to join its IT Infrastructure team in Hauppauge, NY. This is a hands‑on position supporting a Microsoft-centric enterprise environment with responsibilities spanning systems administration, cloud technologies, virtualization, networking, endpoint management, and cybersecurity.

This role is ideal for a well-rounded infrastructure professional who enjoys working across multiple technologies, troubleshooting complex issues, and improving the overall reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems.

Location:

Hauppauge, NY (Onsite). Salary: $95,000 - $110,000.

• Administer and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Entra  (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, Teams, and MFA solutions.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, and Intune.
• Oversee laptop deployments, imaging, software distribution, configuration management, and policy enforcement through Intune.
• Support VMware vSphere and ESXi environments, including virtualization administration and infrastructure enhancements.
• Assist with SQL Server administration, maintenance, backups, upgrades, and recovery operations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot networking infrastructure including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless technologies, and enterprise firewalls.
• Perform server and network hardware installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Support patch management, vulnerability remediation, identity management, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Provide technical support to end users and ensure a positive technology experience across the organization.
• Create and maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and operational processes.

• 4+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related IT role.
• Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments and Microsoft technologies.
• Hands‑on expertise with Active Directory, Entra  (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, and Intune.
• Experience administering VMware vSphere and ESXi environments.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall management.
• Experience with endpoint management, device deployments, patching, encryption, and security policy enforcement.
• Familiarity with MFA, SSO, identity management platforms, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, or ISO 27001 is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
