The Senior Manager, IT Portfolio & Business Systems is responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of IT projects, business systems initiatives, and technology priorities for 4 current brands and perhaps more in future as the company grows. This role will bring structure, visibility, and accountability to how technology needs are identified, prioritized, resourced, executed, and communicated across the organization.

Serving as the primary link between business stakeholders and IT resources, this individual will maintain a comprehensive view of current and proposed technology initiatives, ensuring resources are focused on the highest-priority business needs and that stakeholders have clear visibility into project status, timing, risks, and changes in expected completion dates.

A key mandate for this role will be to modernize how the organization manages its IT portfolio—including project intake, prioritization, resource planning, project tracking, and stakeholder communication. The goal is to create a more transparent, predictable, and user-friendly experience for business partners engaging with IT.

The Senior Manager will directly manage two internal developers and oversee third-party technology service providers. The role requires sufficient technical depth to effectively manage development resources, challenge estimates, understand system dependencies, and translate business requirements into actionable technology initiatives. Experience with ERP environments, particularly Linux-based or legacy business systems, is highly desirable.

• Manage the portfolio of IT projects, enhancements, system requests, and technology initiatives across the organization.
• Establish clear project scopes, deliverables, milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and ownership.
• Maintain a centralized view of all active and pending IT initiatives, including priorities, dependencies, resource allocation, risks, and estimated completion dates.
• Proactively identify projects at risk of delay and work with internal and external resources to resolve issues and maintain momentum.
• Ensure priorities and resources remain aligned with business needs and company objectives.
• Balance planned strategic initiatives with ongoing system enhancements, operational requirements, and urgent business needs.

• Develop and implement a more structured and transparent process for submitting, evaluating, prioritizing, and approving IT requests and projects.
• Partner with business leaders to understand business requirements, expected benefits, urgency, resource needs, and organizational impact.
• Develop practical criteria for prioritizing projects based on business value, strategic importance, complexity, resource requirements, risk, and timing.
• Facilitate regular prioritization discussions with key stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure new requests are evaluated against existing commitments before resources and completion dates are established.

• Serve as the primary communication hub for the status of IT projects and priorities.
• Provide clear, consistent reporting on project status, milestones, risks, resource constraints, and expected completion dates.
• Communicate changes in scope, priorities, resources, or timelines proactively to impacted stakeholders.
• Translate technical issues and constraints into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Create greater visibility and confidence across the organization regarding what IT is working on, where projects stand, and when deliverables can reasonably be expected.
