Overview
We are adding a Director of Construction as a strategic growth hire tolead and scale a multi-market construction operation supporting restoration,ground-up construction (commercial and residential), remodeling, andbuild-outs
. This role is being created due to sustained growth and future geographic expansion, including planned entry into the Florida market
.
This is a field-driven leadership role
, with approximately 50% oftime spent in the field and 50% focused on planning, coordination, and executive alignment
. The Director of Construction will oversee execution across 25 locations
, including six in Canada
, with the majority of work concentrated in New York
. Many offices function primarily as logistics hubs and are not fully staffed—this role requires a leader who can operate independently, decisively, and without layers of support.
Occasional travel to Toronto is required. Most travel will be to local offices and active job sites.
This role is intentionally demanding and is designed for a senior construction leader with deep operational experience, consistent career progression, and a proven ability to manage complexity at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee ground-up commercial and residential construction
,restoration projects, remodels, and tenant/build-out work
Own field execution across multiple concurrent job sites, ensuring schedule adherence, cost control, quality, and safety
Act as the senior construction authority in the field, setting expectations and enforcing accountability
Partner closely with the COO on construction strategy, growth planning, and operational scaling
Establish and standardize construction processes, reporting, and performance metrics across locations
Lead, influence, and align project managers, superintendents, subcontractors,and third-party partners
Navigate high-pressure environments where conditions change and decisions mustbe made on site
Travel regularly to job sites and regional offices; occasional international travel to Toronto

Required Experience & Background
Senior-level construction leadership experience with strong emphasis on ground-up commercial and residential projects
Demonstrated success overseeing multiple projects and locations simultaneously
Stable, consistent work history reflecting progression and increasingresponsibility
Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, andrisk management
Proven ability to lead experienced construction professionals and command respect in the field
Experience operating in growth-oriented, performance-driven environments
Willingness to relocate to the Long Island / New York market if not already local
Commission Structure: Tied to project performance, execution metrics,and/or revenue contribution
