Overview
A growing manufacturing company on Long Island is looking to bring on a Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvements, enhance production efficiency, and strengthen day‑to‑day operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands‑on with the shop floor while still contributing to engineering, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support production teams by troubleshooting issues and optimizing workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure products are manufacturable and production‑ready.
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and routing information.
- Assist with new product introductions and process validations.
- Analyze workflow, equipment layout, and space utilization.
- Contribute to Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 is required.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, machining, industrial, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
- CAD experience (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with machining, CNC processes, automation, or process optimization.
- Background with Lean tools such as 5S, Six Sigma, or value‑stream mapping.
- Comfortable being hands‑on and present on the production floor.
