Forklift Operator, Material Handler
A metals distribution leader is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Material Handler / Warehouse Forklift Operator to join the operations team in Hauppauge, NY. This role is responsible for safely moving materials, filling orders, operating forklifts and heavy equipment, and preparing shipments.
salary: $46,000 - $53,000 per year

- Safely load and unload materials using forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes.
- Retrieve inventory matching work orders and verify accuracy using measuring tapes and calipers.
- Build skids and bundle/wrap products securely using banding equipment, nail guns, and tape.
- Tag products, perform visual inspections, and report any material defects or discrepancies.
- Process shipments and receipts in the inventory tracking system; print shipping tickets and material certifications.
- Prepare materials for delivery via common carriers, UPS, or customer pickup.
