We are looking for a sharp, organized Receiving Supervisor to lead our inbound logistics and dock operations. In this role, you will manage daily freight receipts, keep our inventory accurate from the moment it arrives, and lead a dedicated team to keep our supply chain moving smoothly.
Responsibilities- Inbound & Dock Operations:
Oversee the receipt of daily incoming shipments, managing dock scheduling and ensuring goods are safely and efficiently offloaded. - Shipment Verification:
Inspect incoming freight for damage, match packing slips against purchase orders, and audit item counts to identify any discrepancies. - System & Inventory Entry:
Enter all received shipments into our Warehouse Management System (WMS/ERP) to guarantee real-time stock visibility and accuracy. - Staging & Material Putaway:
Direct the receiving team in staging, labeling, and transferring verified stock to its designated warehouse location or production line. - Team Leadership & Safety:
Supervise, train, and schedule receiving staff while enforcing safety protocols, proper PPE usage, and safe equipment operation (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). - Vendor & Carrier Coordination:
Work directly with freight carriers, vendors, and internal purchasing teams to resolve Over, Short, and Damaged (OS&D) claims and logistics delays. - Inbound Shipments & Offloading:
Oversee the daily receipt of incoming freight, managing dock operations and ensuring shipments are offloaded safely and efficiently. - Verification & Inspection:
Inspect incoming goods for damage, verify pack slips against purchase orders, and audit counts to detect shortages or discrepancies early. - Inventory Entry & System Updates:
Input received goods into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP to maintain real-time inventory accuracy and stock visibility. - Material Putaway & Staging:
Direct dock personnel in staging, labeling, and moving accepted materials to designated warehouse storage, clean rooms, or production lines. - Team Leadership & Safety:
Supervise, train, and schedule receiving staff while enforcing shop floor safety standards, PPE compliance, and proper equipment operation. - Vendor & Carrier Management:
Communicate directly with freight carriers, vendors, and internal procurement teams to resolve OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged) claims and scheduling delays.
