Position: Instructor, Employment Skills Program - Math
Occupational Summary

Day time, Seated classes

Craven Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach classes in the Workforce Development Department. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however, upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as needed basis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Provides accessible, quality learning experiences within the classroom

* Facilitates the learning process to help students refresh mathematical skills such as time management, abstract thinking, data analysis and middle school and high school math subject, including:
Algebra 1, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry & Trigonometry,

* Completes required course assessments and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

* Ensure that the program is meeting the needs of business and industry standards for potential job placement.

* The instructor accomplishes this by presenting discipline specific learning outcomes through pre and post testing lecture, demonstration, labs, projects, assignments, appropriate classroom management, and Test-Prep materials.

* This position will be based on the Havelock, NC campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Preferred:

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Certified Master Training Specialist (MTS) or DOD training equivalent.

Classroom instruction experience.

Experience with Program and Curriculum Development.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Must have a deep understanding of the following:

* Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff

* Working knowledge of MS Office products

* Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom
