Simulation Scenario Developer/Training Facilitator
The Simulation Scenario Developer/Training Facilitator is responsible for designing, executing, and supporting high-fidelity MQ-9 simulation training in a dynamic, scenario-driven environment. This role supports instructor-led training by developing realistic mission sets, operating simulation systems, and enabling simulation events through role play, control, and scenario management.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:• Develop and maintain vignettes within the Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE) aligned with training objectives and aviation Training and Readiness (T&R) standards
• Design and execute scenario-based training events including but not limited to Strike Coordination and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Close Air Support (CAS), Indirect Fire (IDF), Unmanned Escort (UESC), and reconnaissance missions
• Configure, initialize, and operate simulation systems prior to and during training events
• Facilitate simulation execution by managing scenario flow, injects, and overall training objectives
• Role-play as controlling agencies, higher headquarters, and friendly aircraft using voice communications and Internet Relay Chat
• Provide real-time simulation support to instructors and aircrew to ensure effective training progression and mission realism
• Ensure all simulation events align with current tactical doctrine and aviation standards
• Assist in refining and improving training scenarios, mission flow, and simulation fidelity
Requirements:
• Prior experience (5+ years) with unmanned systems, preferably MQ-9, RQ-21, or similar aviation platforms
• Strong understanding of USMC Aviation training and readiness standards
• Working knowledge of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation with experience supporting mission sets including SCAR, CAS, IDF, UESC, and reconnaissance
• Experience operating within simulation environments such as Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE) or similar systems
• Familiarity with simulation software and image generators such as Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG) or equivalent visual systems
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, scenario-driven training environment
• Experience supporting training environments or working alongside instructors
Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
• Qualified Weapons Training Officer or equivalent tactical leadership experience
• Prior experience in simulation-based training, scenario development, or mission planning
• Background in unmanned aviation operations or tactical employment
• Experience role-playing command and control agencies, aircraft, or mission support elements during training events
• Strong tactical knowledge and mission planning ability
• Ability to translate operational experience into realistic training events
• Effective communication across multiple agencies and participants
• Ability to manage scenario execution with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail in both scenario development and simulator support
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Conditions Of Employment:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
