Summary Description
This position involves setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic CNC machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided including vertical mills, line drills, lathes, saws, flame cutters, and plasma cutters, to produce high-quality parts. The role requires ensuring compliance with Tandemloc, Inc.'s policies, procedures, and tolerances while meeting production schedules.
All work must be carried out safely and in compliance with Tandemloc, state, and federal safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety-toed shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and face shields.
This position reports directly to the CNC Shop Foreman.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow work order book technical drawings/information and production schedules to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by adhering to safety guidelines and housekeeping practices.
- Verifying material, technical drawings, bills of material, tooling, and programs.
- Setting up and cutting/machining material to technical specifications.
- Inspecting and counting parts
- Inspect, maintain, load/unload tooling, consumables, and materials.
- Manage and store steel in compliance with safety standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and improve workflow.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors for timely repairs.
- Regular use of cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required- Completion of formal machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent community college/vocational school education.
- Three (3) or more years related experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
- Two (2) or more years Flame and Plasma Cutting experience a plus.
- Must operate with professionalism, a positive attitude, and willingness to work as a team.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
- Must be able to focus on safety and performance, ensuring effective and efficient work execution.
