AboutThe Role
We're hiring a Foster Care Treatment Consultant to support therapeutic foster care services across North Carolina. In this role, you'll ensure that treatment and permanency planning services are delivered through a person- and family-centered approach. You'll work closely with foster families, youth, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing, stability, and long-term success. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about improving outcomes for children and families in foster care.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee individualized therapeutic care and permanency planning for foster youth
- Provide guidance and support to foster parents and treatment teams
- Conduct home visits and ensure compliance with licensing and treatment standards
- Facilitate team meetings to develop and monitor individualized service plans
- Collaborate with state agencies, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports in accordance with agency and state requirements
- Travel frequently to meet clients and families (approximately 70% of the time)
- Master's degree in a Human Services field with at least one (1) year of full-time, post-graduate MH/DD/SA experience with the population served
or
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field with at least two (2) years of full-time, post-bachelor's MH/DD/SA experience with the population served
- Licensed, provisionally licensed, certified, registered, or permitted by the governing board regulating a human service profession in North Carolina (excluding RNs licensed by the NC Board of Nursing)
- Experience providing treatment and permanency planning for foster youth
- Strong organizational, communication, and crisis management skills
