Accounts Assistant

This position is a full-time position. It will involve assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and warehousing healthcare inventory. It would be a significant advantage if the Accounting Assistant has experience in small business accounting.

• Review, enter, and process invoices and payments
• Maintain customer accounts – cash receipts, returns, credits and refunds
• Review, enter and process vendor invoices and payments
• Maintenance of Accounts payable ledger
• Review, print and distribute monthly sales reports
• General Ledger journals
• Organize and maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy
• Assist in warehouse with Shipping and Receiving of Healthcare goods against packing lists
• Entering customer information into Business Software including UPS and Fed Ex
• Creating labels for returned goods
• Checking goods for damage
• Completing weekly and monthly inventory counts for healthcare goods stored on site
• Put away goods as received in accordance with FIFO standard
• Following standard work procedures relating to warehousing
• Other ad‑hoc duties

• High school education with a minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting
• Associates degree or higher with 2 plus years of experience in accounting is preferred.
• Worked in a role with full oversight of an accounting function.
• Experience of using Sage
  100 desirable.
• Must be systems driven and have structured approach to problem solving.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to think outside the box and help identify areas where we can improve efficiency.
