Summer Principal Clerk

Organizational Relationship:
Directly responsible to the Supervisor of Food Service in all matters related to the department.
- Responsible for all monies collected in all schools on a daily and weekly basis.
- Answer telephone calls from all cafeteria personnel regarding student lunch status.
- Balance daily paperwork with bank deposits each day.
- Open, sort and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
- Prepare monthly menus and flyers.
- Prepare memos, correspondence and/or reports.
- Assist with food service ordering, data entry, check verification and invoice processing.
- Assist in month-end reporting procedures.
- Communicate daily departmental matters with City Treasures and City Auditors' Departments.
- Assist the Principal Bookkeeper as needed.
- Perform other general duties as indicated by the Supervisor of Food Service, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
- High School Diploma.
- Secretarial and/or clerical experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong effective time management and planning capabilities.
- Ability to perform all clerical work with little supervision.
- Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to multitask when necessary.
- Skilled in operating standard office equipment, including computer applications and various business machines.
- Experience in data entry and word processing, including daily sales and Excel balancing reports.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Apple software, School Brains, and Budget sense.
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable as determined by the building principal or his/her designee.
