Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Director Landscape Architect to take a senior role within its growing landscape team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate ready to take the next step, or an existing Associate Director looking for a position with greater influence and responsibility. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team, helping to lead projects, develop client relationships, support the wider team and contribute to the continued growth of the landscape discipline.

The landscape team works across a varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK, with involvement from the earliest stages of planning and master planning through to detailed design and delivery. Projects include large scale residential developments, mixed use schemes, commercial developments, healthcare and education projects, regeneration schemes and improvements to public spaces. Many projects are delivered as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, allowing the landscape team to work closely with architects, planners and engineers throughout the design process.

The Associate Director will take responsibility for a combination of project leadership, team management, client development and commercial delivery.

• Leading landscape projects from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery
• Managing and developing key client relationships
• Providing design and technical leadership across projects
• Overseeing project programmes, resources and fees
• Supporting the commercial performance of the landscape team
• Working closely with other design and technical disciplines
• Reviewing work and maintaining high standards across projects
• Mentoring and supporting members of the landscape team
• Preparing fee proposals and supporting bids
• Identifying opportunities with existing and new clients
• Contributing to the future growth and direction of the landscape team

The successful candidate will be an experienced Landscape Architect with a strong consultancy background and experience managing projects, clients and teams.

Chartered status would be expected, together with strong design and technical knowledge and a good understanding of the commercial side of consultancy.

Experience across a range of development sectors would be beneficial, particularly residential, mixed use, commercial, education, healthcare and regeneration.

The position would particularly suit someone who enjoys combining project work with team leadership, client relationships and business development.
