Position: Building Based Educational Specialist

Organizational Relationship

or Line of Authority:

* Directly responsible to the District Principal in all matters pertaining to the building.

* Jointly responsible to appropriate Principal/Supervisor in areas of instruction and curriculum.

Statement of Duties:

* Substitute daily for absent professional staff as determined by Principal/designee.

* Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.

* Must possess the ability to adapt to a variety of lesson plans when covering various subjects or grades.

* Provides summary of activities accomplished, lesson plans completed and not completed and any other additional information that the classroom teacher should be aware of.

* Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for all students and reports all student discipline issues to the appropriate authority.

* Adheres to district policies for staff.

* If there is not a need for a Teacher substitute for the day the BBS will be assigned another area of responsibility for the day.

* Performs other duties assigned by the Principal or directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.

Pre-School Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m.

- 3:45 p.m.

Elementary Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m.

- 3:45 p.m.

Middle School Hours of Work: 8:15 a.m.

- 3:15 p.m.

High School Hours of Work: 7:15 a.m.

- 2:15 p.m.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree, preferred

* Licensed by the State Department of Education in Massachusetts preferred

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
