Organizational Relationship

Report to:
Principal, Superintendent of Schools and/or designee, Supervisor of Mathematics.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement curriculum, units, and lessons that align with state standards and meet diverse student needs.
  • Create and administer informal and formal assessments, analyze results, and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Analyze assessment data with colleagues to improve student learning and share findings with staff.
  • Model high expectations and purposeful instructional practices that motivate and engage students.
  • Accommodate learning differences using tiered instruction, scaffolds, and differentiated strategies for students with disabilities and English learners.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment and promote positive behavior culture.
  • Encourage student self‑assessment, risk‑taking, and goal‑setting.
  • Facilitate family and community engagement, keeping parents informed of curriculum and progress.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with families, addressing cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Treatably reflect on practice, set professional learning goals, and pursue continued growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, student work analysis, intervention planning, and decision‑making.
  • Assist the school in upholding shared responsibilities for student learning and behavior across the campus.
  • Perform other instructional duties as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education – Mathematics 8‑12 (Required).
  • SEI Endorsement Required.
  • Proficiency demonstrated by transcripts of undergraduate and/or graduate work in related fields.
  • Successful teaching experience in secondary grades.
  • Alternatives to listed qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent.
