Dates/
Hours:
July 6th – July 30th;
Monday – Thursday – Weekly planning meetings as well as Pre and Post-Work; 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Work Location: Bartlett School & Assessment Center
Salary: $25.04 to $31.56 per hour (Contractual Hourly Rate; if the selected candidate does not complete the appointment, compensation will be prorated based on time served)

Directly responsible to the Summer ESY Coordinator and/or the Director of Special Education and/or their designee.
Statement of Duties:
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
- Greets students at the bus and parent drop off before school and escorts them at the end of their daily session.
- Implements, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
- Assists teachers for the purpose of determining students' needs and conveying information to configure the class into teams, groups or pairs for special activities.
- Helps individual students feel comfortable in the classroom.
- Works with students one-on-one, answering questions and providing extra skills practice when necessary.
- A working knowledge of classroom management: how to motivate students, how to discipline, how to reinforce what you teach.
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, supervisors/directors, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Passing Score on the Para Pro Test or other state approved assessment program or completion of 360 Professional Training Points
- Associate Degree or 60 Credit
- Prefer prior experience with children in a school or similar setting.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
