Step into a rewarding, contract role as a Part-Time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 2026/2027 academic year near Haverhill, MA. In this school-based position, you will play a key role in supporting approximately 43 students ranging from Pre-K through age 22, providing both direct instruction and primarily consultative services. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school staff, ensuring every student has the access and support needed for a successful educational experience.
Qualifications&
Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license or endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelors or masters degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related discipline
- Previous experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of Massachusetts requirements for deaf and hard-of-hearing services in educational settings
- School-based experience preferred
- Ability to work with diverse age groups and manage a varied caseload
- Deliver a combination of direct and consultative services to a caseload of approximately 43 students
- Guide staff and classroom teachers in best practices, accommodations, and assistive technology for students with hearing differences
- Support student communication and access within the classroom
- Develop, monitor, and implement IEP goals, collaborating with team members during meetings
- Conduct or participate in assessments, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster positive partnerships with students, families, interpreters, audiologists, and related-service providers
