Full-Time Academic Coordinator of Early Childhood Education Career Pathways Program

Location:

Haverhill Campus (100 Elliot Street); MCCC/MTA Unit Staff Position; 37.5 hours per week;
Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm;
Pay Grade 6.

This position is grant-funded and is contingent upon the availability of funding. Continuation of the position is dependent on ongoing grant support and may be subject to termination if funding is reduced or discontinued.

Summary:

Reporting to the Dean of Business and Professional Studies, the Academic Coordinator of Early Childhood Education Career Pathways Program is responsible for coordinating the College's Early Childhood Education Career Pathways Program and ensuring compliance with the Career Pathways (CP) Grant. The Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively across the college to partner with faculty, staff, administrators, and external stakeholders to use a student-centered, data-driven, and outcomes-focused approach to guide students through college services and processes to enable them to complete the Early Childhood Education Foundational Certificate.

The Coordinator will also support the fulfillment of grant initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Specific duties for this position include:

  • Provide information to Early Childhood Education faculty and staff regarding program responsibilities, grant requirements, and student learning goals.
  • Coordinate open houses, information sessions, and recruitment events.
  • Maintain a record of prospective students.
  • Assess students' eligibility for grant services.
  • Support students applying to the College, completing enrollment steps, placement testing, financial aid, and procuring instructional materials.
  • Advise Early Childhood Education students regarding course selection, registration, learning goals, practicum placement, and career planning.
  • Collaborate with the Advising Center to provide advising to Early Childhood Education students.
  • Monitor the progress of all grant-funded students, referring eligible students to academic support services, including tutoring, academic coaching, and peer mentoring.
  • Document student progress and advisement activities in Navigate.
  • Support activities related to student persistence, including technology support and connecting students to community resources that support pathway completion.
  • Facilitate partnerships with local childcare providers and other community partners to coordinate practicum placements, site visits, and job placement after program completion.
  • Draft proposals for continued Career Pathways grant funding following the College's established grant proposal procedures.
  • Administer Career Pathway grant, including submitting applications, collaborating with relevant College personnel, monitoring grant requirements and activities, collecting data, submitting reports, and keeping records.
  • Support the Dean of Business and Professional Studies in communicating with government agencies and completing other administrative and compliance responsibilities throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with FERPA and all other applicable regulations.
  • Follow up with students after program completion regarding educational progress and goal and career achievement.
  • Perform related duties as directed.
