The Applications Field Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chelmsford, MA. This role is responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining equipment at customer locations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Day-to-day tasks include conducting equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and providing technical support and training to end users. The engineer will document service activities, prepare reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers.

This position involves regular customer interaction, 50-70% travel within the United States to customer sites as needed, and close coordination with engineering and sales teams to support applications and product improvements.

• Candidates should possess strong Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and support of industrial or technical equipment , preferably in the SMT segment.
• Candidates should possess robust Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues efficiently.
• Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance capabilities, including scheduling, performing routine inspections, and implementing reliability-focused service practices.
• Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build positive long-term relationships.
• Relevant technical education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals, and to use standard test and measurement tools safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites, valid driver’s license, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Prepare for field visits to understand very option and feature of an order with the goal of making customers successful with the product.
• Keep current with the latest application practices, and best known methods.
