Our client, a leader in their unique industry, has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their busy team. In this hands-on role, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the production and engineering teams by providing expertise in SMT and rework. They will support and optimize process setups, including thermal profiling, airflow control, and heat management, as well as configure and support hot air and rework systems for complex and sensitive assemblies and evaluate circuit boards for repairability, component sensitivity, and rework risk.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have ~10 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, ideally with hands-on experience in SMT assembly, reflow, or board-level processes. You must also be able to read and interpret schematics and possess strong problem-solving skills. This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused role working closely with experienced technicians and engineers. Please consider applying for this opportunity if you live locally to Haverhill, MA.

Additional Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot SMT and rework-related defects and failures
  • Interpret schematics, BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation, Solidworks (or similar) skills a plus.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and work instructions
  • Work directly with technicians to ensure safe, repeatable, and reliable rework processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process standardization efforts
  • Working knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and component sensitivity
  • Comfort working on the shop floor and collaborating closely with technicians
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-reliability electronics environments is preferred
  • Exposure to hot air rework systems, reflow ovens, X-ray inspection, or failure analysis
  • Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721
  • Due to the nature of the work legal residency or US citizenship required.
