Job Description Position Summary
To lead all product development, department staff and implementation through production and manufacturing in the building. This role also is heavily tied to sales and customer ideations to generate interest in new product and to sell current portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities- Responsible for development and launch of new products, ingredients or processes of high priority in a timely manner.
- Experimental design test work; evaluating results with a team to determine direction and maintaining appropriate records of work.
- Build effective relationships with cross‑functional groups to achieve key activities by influencing others for support and results. Work closely with marketing, manufacturing, quality, finance, sales, suppliers, and packaging in a team environment to commercialize new product initiatives, line extensions, quality improvements, and cost savings initiatives.
- Plan, organize, and conduct plant trials.
- Understand, create, implement and modify product and process specifications and procedures.
- Work with market data and the marketing department to plan, implement and launch effective and targeted products for the market.
- Develop technical solutions to a wide range of formula and processing challenges.
- Travel with CEO & Sales team to support new product launches and continually try to add new business to the portfolio.
- Recommend staffing, resources, and process improvements to achieve superior results and team dynamics.
- Work with regulatory consultant on all aspects of label implementation and creation of new product specifications.
- Firm understanding of the product development process including pilot plant development, consumer testing, factory scale‑up, and commercialization.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, technical competence, and initiative.
- Must be a team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivation and goal orientation.
- Good oral and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with cross‑functional team members and management.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage, area, circumference, volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- 10+ years’ experience.
- Word Processing Software (Microsoft Word).
- Spreadsheet Software (Excel).
- Project Management software.
- Manufacturing software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent prioritizing skills.
