Position: Banking Associate - Spanish Speaking Preferred - Haverhill MA (Merrimack Street)

Overview

The Banking Associate is a professional in banking who delivers TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of tasks within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services.
  • Provide end‑to‑end advice by building trust with educational content and tools, offering consultative support, and delivering proactive insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and provide guidance to attract and retain customers.
  • Understand customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, or refer to the appropriate team member, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Accurately complete everyday banking transactions on the teller line or platform, uncover customer needs, and educate on products, services and tools or refer to the appropriate expert.
  • Serve customers on both the teller line and platform as needed, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday transactions, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, and digital banking.
  • Engage with customers, provide financial advice, and deepen relationships through lead management activities, including lead creation/management, referrals, outbound outreach, appointments, and prioritization.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity (volunteering, education, or military experience may apply)
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Teller experience preferred
  • Required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills; concise, clear, and consistent
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to schedule and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; sound judgment in decision making
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Notary license preferred
Accountabilities Customer Accountabilities
  • Provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships with product knowledge and attentive listening to identify needs and provide solutions or referrals
  • Manage wait times to schedule banker meetings and coordinate appointments
  • Be the first point of contact for customer inquiries and help resolve issues or arrange expert consultations
  • Support the bank’s customer service strategy and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Drive referrals to store colleagues and partners to address broader financial needs
  • Complete required job-specific and compliance training in a timely manner
  • Comply with compliance/risk and control programs; respond to audits and regulator requests with prompt action; maintain records
  • Adhere to TD Code of Conduct
Shareholder Accountabilities
  • Ensure compliance when completing operational activities per company guidelines and regulations to minimize risk
  • Accurately process cash/deposits/withdrawals and other account servicing requests
  • Process everyday transactions such as opening/closing accounts, servicing, deposits, or updating information
  • Maintain compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, controls, and required documentation
  • Apply customer authentication and due diligence to new accounts and transactions
  • Perform transactions accurately with cash drawers and maintain cash controls
  • Follow policy for customer authentication and open/close procedures as required
