Location & Contract

Location: Sybil Andrews Academy and supporting the Bury St Edmunds cluster of schools

Contract Type: Permanent, full time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

  • Unity Schools Partnership is a progressive and growing MAT (of 40 schools) that is transforming the way IT is delivered, managed and supported in our schools through the innovative use of IT to deliver excellent user focused services that are recognised by our peers as leading in the Education sector.
  • Access to a wide and varied range of technologies across Primary, Secondary and Special Education
Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st line support for school IT equipment
  • Install, order and maintain software and hardware
  • Provide technical support to teachers and pupils
  • Resolve IT issues reported through the service desk ticketing system
  • Assist in the maintenance of the school's network
  • Install new software and upgrade existing applications
  • Maintain hardware peripherals (e.g. visualisers, printers, external drives)
  • Ensure systems are safe and offer full child protection
  • Provide training to teachers and students
Qualifications & Skills
  • Enjoy working in a learning environment and have great patience, diplomacy and good communication skills
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware and software commonly used in schools
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to explain problems and solutions clearly to non-technical users
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A patient and methodical approach
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • An awareness of health and safety
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between schools within your hub)
  • Full Enhanced DBS check required
