Pay range: $40.00 Hourly - $40.00 Hourly Onsite
Job Position Summary
The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility, equipment, and site assets. This hands-on role performs preventative maintenance, routine inspections, general building repairs, and a variety of manual labor activities to maintain the facility and minimize equipment downtime.
The technician will complete scheduled maintenance activities, identify and address basic equipment and facility issues, respond to repair requests, and support day-to-day facility needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable performing a wide range of physical and technical tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and other site assets according to established maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility systems to identify wear, damage, safety concerns, or potential maintenance needs.
- Complete basic troubleshooting and repairs on equipment and facility assets within the scope of training and experience.
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including doors, walls, flooring, fixtures, shelving, furniture, and other facility components.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry-related tasks as appropriate and within established safety requirements.
- Support the installation, relocation, assembly, and removal of equipment, furniture, shelving, and other facility assets.
- Complete manual labor activities such as moving materials, loading and unloading equipment, organizing storage areas, removing debris, and supporting facility improvement projects.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, operational impact, and urgency.
- Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and completed work orders.
- Identify recurring equipment or facility issues and communicate recommended repairs or corrective actions to management.
- Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed to support repairs, maintenance, inspections, and facility projects.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support general housekeeping, facility organization, and site readiness activities.
- Assist with emergency maintenance needs and other facility-related activities as required.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with at least 1 to 3 years in facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance, building maintenance, construction, mechanical work, or a related hands-on role preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and determine when an issue requires escalation to a specialized technician or contractor.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, safety instructions, and work orders.
- Basic computer skills and ability to document completed maintenance activities.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
- Dependable, responsive, and willing to perform a broad range of facility and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with assistance or material-handling equipment used when appropriate.
- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment as required.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and in areas that may occasionally involve noise, dust, temperature variations, or other typical facility conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, warehouse, or commercial facility.
