This Horizontal CNC Setup Machinist role supports high-precision production on horizontal machining centers. The position requires strong setup ability, process control, and troubleshooting experience.

This is a clean, climate-controlled 52-person facility focused on long-terms employment and stable production — not high-turnover machining.

In this role, you will:

• Perform full setups on horizontal machining centers (HMCs)
• Install fixtures, load programs, set tooling, and establish work offsets
• Verify work holding and prove out new jobs
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Hold tight tolerances and maintain dimensional accuracy
• Make offset adjustments and optimize feeds/speeds
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections
• Troubleshoot machining or process issues
• Work closely with programmers and quality team members
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

This role is hands-on and requires independent setup capability.

• Precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• Proven experience performing full machine setups independently
• Experience with horizontal machining centers (HMCs)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong understanding of tooling, work holding, and offsets
• Experience holding tolerances
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused

Preferred:

• Experience machining plastics or thermoplastics
• Experience making minor program edits at the machine
• Experience supporting process improvements
