CNC Horizontal Machinist
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Machinist to support the production of large, precision components in a fast-paced, high-mix environment. This full-time role offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, $25.50 per hour, and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centers (HMCs) based on technical specifications and blueprints
- Select, install, and align proper tooling, fixtures, and work pieces
- Adjust machine settings and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measurement tools
- Interpret complex drawings and GD&T specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
- Accurately complete production and inspection documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Support team collaboration and continuous improvement efforts
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience operating CNC horizontal machining centers
- Ability to perform setups and make minor program edits
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measurement tools
- Experience with plastic and aluminum materials
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
Skills:
- 5+ years of CNC horizontal machining experience
- Completion of a formal CNC training program or apprenticeship
- Background in machining large, complex parts
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with advanced machining strategies and CAM software
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for 8+ hours
- Lift and maneuver parts up to 25 lbs regularly
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and small components
- Use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety shoes
- Work in a shop environment with moderate noise, temperature changes, and exposure to machining oils
