Nurse Educator
Nursing Faculty – Full‑Time Assistant Professor
Position at Northern Essex Community College, Lawrence Campus, Haverhill, MA. Classified as a tenure‑track MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position, 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Teach didactic lectures in specialties such as Maternal/Child Health, Pediatrics, Psych, or Medical Surgical nursing, Skills Lab, and Pharmacology in classroom, clinical setting, and clinical simulation laboratory.
- Participate in curriculum development, program accreditation, and evaluation of students.
- Develop computer‑based tests and provide student advising.
- Serve on program and college committees.
- Be available to teach in the clinical setting.
- Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical settings.
- Use varied teaching strategies to promote critical thinking.
- Create instructional material aligned with course objectives.
- Maintain expertise in the nursing discipline and instructional responsibilities.
- Participate in college service activities.
- Comply with the duties stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Earned Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum two years of full‑time nursing employment within the past five years.
- Evidence of clinical competence in the area(s) of Medical‑Surgical Nursing.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- BLS Health Provider Level certification from AHA.
- Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team‑teaching environment.
- May be required to clear a 10‑panel urine drug screen per the clinical placement policy.
- High level of experience in undergraduate nursing curriculum development.
- Experience in simulation development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of ACEN accreditation standards and MA BORN regulations for nursing programs.
- Experience teaching face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, or videoconferencing formats.
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish/English).

Additional InformationSalary:
Anticipated starting salary range is $75,232.00 – $85,182.00 per academic year for an Assistant Professor with a master’s degree, with full fringe‑benefit package. Actual salary determined by MCCC/MTA salary schedule based on education and experience.
