Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance programme designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. The role develops, implements, and maintains the Quality Assurance Programme and HACCP system, analyses customer contact trends, production data, and develops strategies and programmes for improved product safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Implements, maintains, and ensures the integrity of the plant’s food safety and quality programme.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Organises and conducts internal quality audits.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analysing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Monitors the adequacy of food safety and quality plans with actions as needed.
  • Assists in verifying and investigating non‑conformances.
  • Identifies and evaluates quality problems and recommends solutions.
  • Evaluates, verifies, and reports the implementation of corrective and preventive action.
  • Ensures that needed resources are provided and training is completed for personnel performing quality‑related activities.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and programme information to the management team.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programmes to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
