Job Summary

Slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses. Maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including deli display cases. Provides assistance to Members in the deli department.

Club Standards

Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily.

  • Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities
  • Provide a high level of customer service to Members; answer questions and recommend deli items. Take special orders.
  • Slice, package, and weigh deli products; help Members select products; sample products to assist in purchasing decisions; prepare and package special orders and party trays.
  • Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety policies.
  • Ensure products are fresh and meet quality standards; check for out-of-date products daily and follow salvage policies.
  • Maintain deli cooler shelves and display cases; stock and rotate items as needed.
  • Operate and handle deli equipment safely; clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces.
  • Ensure scale systems are functioning and items are weighed and priced accurately.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, including cross-department work.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
Qualifications
  • Work experience in a deli department preferred.
  • Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred.
  • Knowledge of deli products preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Environmental Job Conditions
  • Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.
  • Frequently lifts up to 30 pounds; may require assistance for heavier objects.
  • Indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers; exposure to cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $21.13. Actual salaries vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
