Position: OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST – Haverhill, MA

Job Overview: This position is an Operations Support Specialist at 3M Haverhill, MA. The role supports plant operations, manages materials, and coordinates logistics to ensure efficient production flow.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials; prepare, load, and ship outbound orders with accurate documentation such as Bills of Lading and packing lists.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to load/unload trucks, move materials, and prepare pallets, including wrapping and weighing.
  • Coordinate shipping and logistics activities, schedule pickups, and prepare customer shipments.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by recording material movements, assisting with cycle counts, and tracking usage of packaging and production supplies.
  • Support overall plant operations by managing scrap and recycling, maintaining 5S standards, and providing assistance to manufacturing and quality control as needed.
  • Execute additional tasks assigned by leadership.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED (completed prior to start).
  • One year of experience in a warehouse or production setting, in a private, public, government or military environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV) such as sit‑down and stand‑up forklifts with a strong safety record and current certification.
  • Proven success in high‑volume manufacturing or warehouse environments, supporting efficient material flow and minimizing downtime.
  • Advanced experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, MES) and a track record of accurate data entry and transaction processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including cycle count experience, inventory discrepancy resolution, and accuracy improvement.
  • Effective cross‑functional communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives.
