Liquor Store General Manager 3A

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Liquor Store General Manager 3A to lead the operations of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at Chester Pike in Havertown. Why Join Us? As a General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the store while leading and developing a dedicated team.

This position oversees store operations and staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment. The role includes leadership responsibilities that support store performance and team development. You will be a key leader, overseeing day-to-day activities, developing a high-performing team, and implementing strategies to exceed sales targets while maintaining a top-tier store environment. As a Liquor Store General Manager 3A, you will perform the following duties:

  • Store Leadership: Guide daily operations and support staff development to strengthen store performance
  • Staff Oversight: Direct hiring, scheduling, coaching, and work assignments for all store employees
  • Customer Service Focus: Promote a welcoming environment and ensure strong service standards
  • Policy Compliance: Apply agency rules and maintain consistency in store processes and activities
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, address inventory issues, and support product placement needs
  • Performance Review: Evaluate staff progress and provide instruction or feedback to improve results

  • Work hours will vary, totaling 75 hours biweekly.

  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees may be negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store General Manager 2B (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 or a Liquor Store General Manager 2A (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Legal Requirements:

    • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
