Position Overview

Adjunct Instructor of Nursing (Classified as Faculty – Adjunct Instructor)

This position involves teaching undergraduate nursing courses in both the Associate of Science (ASN) program and the online Bachelor of Science Completion Program (RN‑BSN). The role requires classroom, lab, simulation, and distance‑learning instruction, as well as active participation in program development, student advising, and college committees.
Duties and Responsibilities- Implement and evaluate courses in the ASN and online RN‑BSN programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clinical affiliates.
- Provide lecture, lab, and clinical instruction in assigned specialty areas.
- Teach and supervise simulation lab instruction.
- Provide academic advising to students.
- Participate in ongoing development and evaluation of program outcomes and effectiveness.
- Serve on college committees and participate in campus activities.
- Contribute to student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policy development.
- Engage in scholarly activity, including professional development and active participation in professional organizations.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a nationally accredited program, OR Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and willingness to enroll in an MSN program and complete it within five years.
- Current, unencumbered Montana Registered Nursing license or Compact state licensure, OR eligibility for RN licensure in Montana.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills, high initiative, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
- Teaching experience in an ASN or BSN program.
- Experience in distance education, including web‑based course development and implementation.
- Experience with simulation lab instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting the mission of the College.
