MAINTENANCE PROJECTS COORDINATOR (WORK PROGRAM COORDINATOR)

There are two (2) vacancies with the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Support Services Bureau.

  • Maintenance Support Services Division (DPR): plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the work program, preventive maintenance and special projects of the division.
  • Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division (DPR): provides technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating new construction projects, maintenance and repair services for all facilities, appurtenant structures, grounds and equipment.
  • HPD, Headquarters facilities (Alapai) and other police facilities: manages facilities, prioritizes and budgets repair/renovation/maintenance contracts, coordinates work with the City Department of Facility Maintenance or private contractors. Requires ability to read/interpret blueprints and contracts and a technical understanding of security, cabling, mechanical/electrical/electronic facility components. May require weekend/evening/holiday work.

Salary / Additional Job Information
  • Salary for the Department of Parks and Recreation: $5,369 per month (SR-22).
  • Salary for the Honolulu Police Department: $5,369 - $6,283 per month (SR-22). Actual salary commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Education Requirement

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field. Education obtained outside the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. A foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided if required. We reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Substitution:
Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Experience Requirement

Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.

License Requirement

Possession of a valid appropriate driver’s license (automobile/Type
3), prior to appointment.
