Salary: $6,495 to $7,216 per month (SR-21, Step C to I). Salary includes Related Shortage Category Differential.

Responsibilities- Assist an Engineer in the administration of building construction and other contracts.
- Supervise inspectors of a lower grade.
- Review plans and specifications.
- Represent an Engineer during inspection of minor projects.
- Perform inspections involving substantial complexities, including multi‑story or multi‑million‑dollar structures.
- Work with the engineer‑in‑charge and builders to identify and correct deficiencies, interpret and explain State requirements, and resolve problems such as unauthorized deviations from approved plans.
- Inspect structures involving complex construction problems, such as installation and testing of sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems in large multistory, special purpose buildings.

- Basic Experience/
Education:
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and perform arithmetic computations. - General
Experience:
Two (2) years of journey‑level experience in the building construction trades, demonstrating knowledge of the full range of specialized knowledge, skills, abilities and practices used in such trades, including building construction methods and materials, safety requirements and practices, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches. - Specialized Experience (two years): Either
A. Building construction inspection work experience; or
B. Supervisory work experience over a force of skilled trades workers in the building construction industry, involving responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting the quality of workmanship and materials. - Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
- Lift and Carry: Must be able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
