The Assistant Teacher’s primary role will be to help provide a safe learning environment by supporting experiences in the outdoor areas and other areas of the school. In the outdoor areas, the Assistant Teacher actively ensures the safety and well-being of students, play areas and grounds for safety. They will also help with supervision in areas such as the cafeteria, snack bar, and spaces in-and-around Case Middle School.
The ideal candidate will understand the developmental stages of children, the ability to develop and support a positive learning environment, and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with students. - Friday, 10:45am - 2:15pm - Minimum Salary Range: $35,153 - $68,099 (Salary will be prorated based on actual FTE and instrutional days)
- Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay. The pay rate reflects the range of pay for faculty, which is dependent upon educational attainment and years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising students in an elementary or middle school setting.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; an understanding of the developmental needs of young children, sensitivity to each individual student’s needs; and ability to appreciate the variety of perspectives offered by individual viewpoints, disciplines and cultural understandings.
