Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.

Job Summary
Provide tutoring in IT and select computer science courses at designated times. Additionally, offers individual instruction and coaching to supplement classroom learning. Assist with grading and other tasks related to supporting professors and instructors. We offer tutoring for 18 different courses and expect our tutors to assist students at various stages of their learning journey.
Primary Responsibilities
* Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence.
* Teach students to study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
* Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.
* Provide private instruction to individuals or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.
* Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.
* Assist in grading and course maintenance.
* Aid in Department functions as needed.
* Validate course materials.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.
Education
Lower Division Courses Completed
Must have taken and received an A- or better in three or more of the following courses

IT 280
CS 101
IT 320
IT 327
CS 250
Work Experience
6 Months General Work Experience
Physical Demands
Typical classroom environment, need to lift objects up to 18 pounds on occasion.
Base Rate Per Hour:
16.50
