Position: LIBRARIAN IV - SHIFTWORK - LAHAINA, MAUI
Location: ‘Ewa Gentry

Job Summary

Recruitment Number 25-0172 – Librarian III – Lahaina Public Library, Lahaina, Hawaii.

Compensation

Salary: $5,369 to $6,535 per month (SR-22, Step D to I).

Work Hours

Rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and supervise the operation of the library.
  • Serve as a specialist for reference and materials, or cataloging and classification in subject fields or special collections.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate library services in a major functional area.
  • Provide specialized reference services and materials to departmental/program personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Legal Authorization to Work: U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Professional Librarian

    Experience:

    Two and a half (2‑1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more major functional areas of librarianship (e.g., selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification, collection development and maintenance, reference, readers’ advisory services, or promotion of library services).
  • Experience Comparable to Librarian III: At least one year of experience comparable to the Librarian III role, which includes independent performance of the full range of professional library services in a service or functional area with independent judgment.
  • Substitutions: Relevant substitutions are allowed as described in the full Minimum Qualification Requirements.
