Position: Kekaulike High: Grade 9-12 Special Education Workplace Readiness Teacher, 64404 (2026-01620)
Location: Makawao

Minimum Qualifications

State of Hawaiʻi license for Special Education or a valid Hawaiʻi teaching license. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must graduate and be licensed within three years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Special Education license from the Hawaiʻi Teacher Standards Board.

Desired Experience

Special education classroom experience in a K‑12 school setting.

Desired Knowledge

Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings; exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions; maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines; grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively; work effectively with others.

Employment Requirements

Upon hire, teachers must have a valid Hawaiʻi teaching license or an Emergency Hire Permit.
