Electrical Engineer

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering that meets one of the following:
  • Program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • Program includes differential and integral calculus and courses in at least five of the following seven areas: statics/dynamics; strength of materials; fluid mechanics/hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials; any comparable area.

  Education and Experience:
  
  College-level education, training, or technical experience providing
  • Thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
  • Good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of engineering sciences and techniques applied to one of the branches of engineering.
  Adequacy demonstrated by one of the following:
  • Professional registration or licensure as Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Successfully passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or other required written test.
  • Completed at least 60 semester hours of specified courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.
  • Completed a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific field with at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.

One year of specialized experience including:

• Preparing electrical engineering designs, plans, and specifications for construction projects.
• Developing construction cost estimates for electrical systems.
• Developing construction cost estimates and scopes of work for electrical systems.
• Conducting facility electrical inspections.
